🧊 Deep North — Upcoming Biome
The final planned biome, the Deep North, is an icy polar region at the top of the world. Not yet released as of July 2026, but here is everything we know and how to prepare.
Current Status
The Deep North is the eighth and final biome on Valheim's roadmap. Iron Gate Studio has confirmed it is in development but has not announced a release date. Currently, the biome is accessible in the world generation as a frozen wasteland with sparse content and no boss.
What To Expect (Speculation)
- Theme: Extreme cold, ice caves, aurora skies. Similar to Mountains but more extreme.
- Potential Enemies: Ice variants of existing enemies, yeti-like creatures, frost dragons.
- Potential Resources: New ore type (Frost Metal?), unique building materials.
- Potential Boss: A new Forsaken boss — possibly a frost giant or ice dragon.
- Mechanics: Likely requires extreme cold resistance, possibly new mead type.
How to Prepare
What We Know
- The Deep North is procedurally generated like all other biomes
- It occupies the northernmost region of the Valheim world
- Current world generation shows ice sheets and frozen terrain
- No mobs currently spawn there
- It will likely follow Fader as the next endgame content
