💡 Understanding Weapon Stats in Valheim
⚔️ Damage Types Matter
Blunt (🔵) destroys skeletons, blobs, and Bonemass. Pierce (🔱) excels against trolls when you hit the head. Slash (⚔️) is the versatile all-rounder. Many enemies resist at least one type — bringing the right damage type is more important than raw numbers.
❄️🔥⚡ Special Damage
Frost slows enemies and stun-locks most foes (Frostner, Staff of Frost). Spirit deals bonus damage to undead. Fire burns Greydwarfs and the Elder. Lightning chains between wet enemies and staggers Morgen in Ashlands. Combining special + physical damage is almost always better than pure physical.
🛡️ Parry & Block
Parry bonus multiplies your block power when you time a block perfectly. Knives (4x) and Polearms (3x) have the highest parry bonuses — making them surprisingly defensive. Tower shields cannot parry at all, trading that for higher base block and knockback resistance.
📈 Skill Level = Hidden Power
Your weapon skill level (Clubs, Swords, Bows, etc.) directly increases damage, reduces stamina cost, and improves blocking with that weapon type. Skills level slowly — sticking with one weapon type across biomes is almost always better than switching types. A player with 50 Clubs using an Iron Mace out-damages a player with 10 Swords using a Blackmetal Sword.
